The Dog Shortlist exists for one reason: choosing a product should not take an evening of tab-hopping. We do the comparison work and condense it into one clear, honest shortlist per category.
How We Research
Every guide follows the same method:
- Map the market. We list the products that are actually available and relevant right now, not just the famous names.
- Collect the evidence. We gather manufacturer specifications, expert reviews and verified user feedback from multiple independent sources.
- Compare on what matters. Each category has its own criteria. For some products that is durability and safety, for others it is comfort or price per use. We weigh products on the criteria that matter for that category.
- Rank and explain. We turn the research into a ranked shortlist and explain per product who it is best for, including its weak points.
We update guides when the market changes: products disappear, prices shift, and better options launch.
How We Make Money
Our guides contain affiliate links. When you buy through them, we can earn a commission from the brand or retailer, at no extra cost to you.
